In Springtime . . .

the motorcycles and scooters come out, I've noticed in the last week. But nothing compares to what we saw in Taiwan this summer! They were everywhere and they were usually loaded right up. Once we saw a family of 2 parents and 2 teenage girls riding on 1 scooter! Often small children would stand in front of the driver on the scooters. It was amazing to see some of the loads they could pack onto these little vehicles. Another one of those "Only in Asia" remembrances!

  1. LOL! Yep, all those scooters loaded up with people, vegetables and even propane bottles. It's definitely something we'll never forget about Taiwan, and I'm not sure that we miss them yet. Good memories though. Thanks for reminding us.

  2. Fascinating! Can you imagine having that many people on one in the U.S.??

Oh, yes, "Only in Asia" for sure.

I have a friend from the Netherlands who showed me a picture of the train station parking area--for bicycles! It was packed full with at least two levels of bicycle parking.

Of course, it's very safe to ride a bike in Holland. In many ways I wish there were places like that in my town...
