Simple Woman #50

For Today . . . July 13, 2009

Outside my window . . . a mix of sun and cloud, + 18 degrees C, and a cool breeze blowing.

I am  thankful . . . that Heather and Silas safely arrived in New York City today.

And I am also thankful . . . that our daughter and son-in-law have entrusted our granddaughter Helayna to us and she will spend 4 days here this week.

I am praying . . . for guidance and peace in my life.

I am thinking . . . about daily life with a toddler in the house!

From the kitchen . . .  Pasta with Cheese Sauce (homemade), Grilled Smokies, fresh veggies (including local baby carrots), and fresh saskatoon rhubarb pie.

I am wearing . . . jean capris, a pink tshirt, a patterned blouse and black sandals.

I am reading . . . The Book of Negroes

I am hoping . . . to go to the zoo this week.

I am hearing . . . "Salvation belongs to the Lord - it says in my Daddy's Bible" - shared by Helayna - what sweet words from such a little one!

I am creating . . . a summer tradition by having our granddaughter spend this time with us - I hope it will be the first of many years.

Around the house and yard . . .  grass to cut, laundry to keep up with, a sandbox to fill and bird netting to put over the saskatoon bushes.

One of my favourite things . . . fresh fruit pie!

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . swimming, visit to the zoo, play time outside, quad rides, stories to read, pictures to take and fun to have!

Here is a
picture thought I am sharing with you . . . Heather with her two sweet kids as she headed to security at the airport today.

  1. Hi, Crystal,
I was looking at The Book of Negroes recently but haven't bought it. What do you think - is it a good read? Hope you're having a great summer; I enjoyed reading about the quad trip!
