2. At book club last night we had a great time discussing
and catching up on all the news, including engagements!, from everyone's summer. Good times!
3. Beet relish and zucchini relish on the work order here today. I have 3 jars of each left from last year so that worked out pretty good.
4. I'm planning a little road trip for next week to get some of these lovelies.
I can just imagine how good they are going to taste :)
5. Photo of the week:
licking the whipped cream beaters!
I wish we had plentiful cheap peaches here! They are pricey. What do you make with yours, Crystal?
ReplyDeleteHi, Linds -
DeleteI'll get 500 pounds of peaches for 60 cents a pound - a huge bargain! The girls and I will can the majority of them for winter eating. We'll feast on fresh ones and maybe make some peach salsa if there are enough. Heather and I found a new orchard for pears - the biggest pears I've ever seen for 35 cents a pound so we'll take 300 pounds! It's quite unbelievable - I feel like I'm not giving the growers a fair price but they are happy to sell so many to one buyer at one time. And we are delighted to buy direct and enjoy them all winter. I wish you lived closer so you could come with me - it's a great road trip :))
Wow. WOW. Unbelievable prices!!!! I would so be in the car like a shot if I were closer, believe me. I paid £2 for 4 pathetically small plum sized peaches. You know what I really miss from South Africa? The bright orange cling peaches, which are the ones which you buy in tins. Firm. Orange colour. Juicy. And now I am drooling in a most unattractive fashion....
