January Sewing

One of my goals for this year, as written down on Listography 1, #6, was to sew something every week.  I am very happy to say that was accomplished, in several little ways, for the month of January.

This fleece sleep sac was for Samuel.
It was my first experience sewing fleece.

Next up was a birthday banner for Melinda.

The cupcake fabric is so cute!

I saw this bag made from a pillowcase on Martha Stewart's site
and this one worked as a gift bag for Melinda.
I bought the pillowcase at the thrift shop for $1.00!

This set of heart pillowcases was a little Valentine gift for her and Tyler.
The fabric was "Party In Pink" by Henry Glass.
Meadow helped me sew this little heat pack and another one for herself.
She is such a little crafter!

And this pillowcase was my test one,
using instructions from my favourite new quilt book.
I think it just might end up on my pillow :)

So there are the little projects from the first month of the year - and I am thrilled that my sewing machine and I spent some very happy times together.

  1. And I'm so thankful that most of those treats came to our house. We love them. I'm using the pillowcase bag for Samuel's diaper bag. It works great and I love the fabric. Perfect for this little boy.
Samuel loves the sleepsac. As soon as I pulled it out of the box he grabbed it and cuddled it while sucking his thumb. Very cute.
The pillowcases are so cute. I can't wait to get them on the bed this week. They go perfectly with our pink fleece sheets. ;)

  2. Oh I really like all of the projects you completed. The pillowcase bag is such an incredible idea. I think I will have to try and make one for Genesis (she is obsessed with bags and purses lately). I haven't used my sewing machine in a LONG time, so maybe this will give me some incentive.
