Outside the snow is softly falling, covering everything with white. The wind is blowing and the drifts are piling up. We got stuck in the driveway twice this morning on our way to Meadow's hockey game. But as we finally made our way to the road, the phone rang and it was Naomi telling us that Meadow was sick and she wasn't playing today. We drove down to the corner anyway, turned around and came back. Then we got stuck again turning into the driveway! Bob used his muscles once more and we crept back into the garage to spend the day at home.
Inside the bread machine is whirring, the dishwasher is humming, the furnace is pumping out warm air and I'm doing a little sewing again. One of my goals for 2011 is to do more sewing during the winter and less next December! So between pre-shrinking new fabrics and sewing some things that never got done before Christmas, I am right on schedule for the first week of the new year.
And we are finishing the day with a New York movie night - Rent, Shall We Dance? and now My Great Big Fat Greek Wedding! We love being able to pick out the NYC landmarks and the music has been awesome. I hope you are having a warm and cozy day too!
I am home, and the house is chilly, but the sun is shining, and I have forgotten how to use a UK keyboard......
ReplyDeleteHome days are wonderful when the snow is falling and they mean you can just do thinkgs you love - baking, cooking, sewing, reading, DVDs.... Love it!
Love the picture with the red berries against the white snow!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great way to spend the day - inside, nice and warm. Thank goodness Dad was there to get you guys unstuck in the driveway. :) I hope Meadow is feeling better soon.
