Simple Woman #44

For Today . . . June 1, 2009

Outside my window . . . it was cloudy, grey and chilly this morning but now the sun's come out, the temperature is +20 degrees C and it feels like spring again.

I am  thankful . . . for celebrations of university studies finished and church anniversaries - 75 years for our congregation this year.

I am praying . . . that Melinda and Samuel will adjust to a new spot to live for this month and that they will be okay as Tyler returns to New York City this weekend.  They will be reunited at the end of the month but in the meantime I know they are going to miss each other a whole lot!

I am thinking . . . about the Crockpot Cooking classes I am teaching tomorrow.  I have lots of ideas, some yummy food and am inspired to use my own crockpot a whole lot more!

From the kitchen . . . Slow Cooker Lasagne, Barbecued Slow Cooker Ribs, Twice Crocked Potatoes, Baked Beans and Chocolate Fondue - the menu items for class tomorrow.  I've prepared one batch of each that will cook before class so we can taste test the recipes.

I am wearing . . . denim capris, striped cotton sweater in parfait colors, and sandals.

I am reading . . . Summer Slow Cooker Recipes by Taste of Home magazine.

I am hoping . . . to get some sewing done and send 2 skirts to be given away on a mision trip to Costa Rica this summer.  

I am hearing . . .  the soundtrack from Fiddler On The Roof

I am creating . . . a "Why I Scrapbook" layout in response to the challenge over at Write. Click.  Scrapbook. - a brand new scrapbook site launched today by a number of the Simple Scrapbooks designers.  

Around the house and yard  . . . seedlings to plant out, dandelions - and grass - to mow, raspberries to clean out and outside windows to wash.  

One of my favourite things . . . staying overnight at my sister's house - she is a wonderful hostess and has a beautiful home!

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . teaching 2 cooking classes tomorrow, 2 days of subbing, a play date with Meadow and lots of work at home.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you . . . the seedlings are coming up great and will need to be transplanted this week.  Unfortunately the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow night are for temperatures of - 3 and a risk of frost.  We don't want to lose these little guys on the first day out!!
