My Role

In the last 5 years it has come to me that God wants me to serve Him by serving my family. That is contrary to what the world wants me to believe - no big surprise that God's way is not the way of the world, is it?! But He gave me the role and joy of being a mother for a reason and I honour Him when I enjoy that role. And I have His model of parenting to follow - His always giving, always sacrificing, always waiting, always loving model. So my calling and my time are my gifts with which to serve Him. (written in response to a blog question from Jeanne @ At A Hen's Pace)

  1. You are such an amazing woman Crystal and a great role model for so many of us.
    Proverbs 31:29
" Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."
I thought of this text when I read your post, actually Proverbs 31: 10-31. The whole passage. Have a great day. I love reading your blog and keeping in touch despite the busyness.

  2. Thanks for sharing, Mom. I often feel like that, too. It's been incredibly challenging going back to work and still feeling like I'm serving and loving my family first. I really love and appreciate the role of motherhood. You are an amazing mom, who serves and sacrifices an awesome amount for her family. I love you!

  3. I could not agree more. Being a mother is such an amazing role, a true gift from God really! There are so many days when I fail, when I make mistakes and am not the mother that I know God wants or desires me to be, however thank goodness for his mercy and grace! Your blog is so encouraging and uplifting especially in this world that desires such a different path and role from us! It is also very clear the love, time and sacrifice you make joyfully for your family--you are a great role model indeed! God Bless You!
