H - Does less than mean smaller?
G - Yes, it does.
H - Is 9 less than 10?
G - Yes, it is.
H - Did you know 6 is less than 7?
Did you know 3 is less than 4?
Did you know 11 is less than 12?
And on and on and on it went! She has a new fascination - it's marvelous - and it makes me smile!

Ah, that's priceless. It's amazing how quickly she figures things out. That's a pretty amazing conversation to have with an almost four year old.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful, Crystal. It's so important for children to form relationships with numbers (and letters)--so they feel a sense of ownership. It helps them to not be afraid of math and spelling. Victor has been having a lot of word conversations lately, much like this one. XO
