Winter Walk

Here in Alberta we set a new temperature high today when we reached +6 degrees Celsius.  So it was a great day to take a walk after I got home from school.

Remember some of the autumn pictures I took around Pigeon Lake?  Here's what it looks like in the wintertime.

And that old truck that was sitting under the trees loaded with colored leaves?  Here it is again, looking rather forlorn and abandoned.  I love that red door on the little house.

'Waiting for the Ice to Melt' is my title for these dock stands.

And this is the prettiest little planter.

And the breeze and bright blue sky make our flag look gorgeous.

I hope it's not too cold where you are so you can grab your camera, go for a quiet walk and take time to look closely.  Happy Weekend!!

  1. You have a wonderful eye for photography. That doesn't sound right. You have a wonderful photo-eye? Try again. You have a wonderful photographic eye???

Oh dear! One more go. Crystal, you take really wonderful photographs. Stunning in fact.

Enjoy your weekend. I'm grabbing the camera and walking.

  2. What a contrast and a beautiful one in its own way, Crystal. I am grabbing my camera to wave goodbye to the boy. Sigh. The sun is shining at the moment.

  3. It's a little cooler out our way this weekend. It was -12C yesterday, but with the windchill closer to -20C. Brrrr! This humid, wet cold is bone chilling. Today the sun is shining, so we're out for a walk to the big park near us. I'm hoping we can get to the zoo and the library over there. We'll take some photos to share. I'm glad it's finally warmer in your neck of the woods. Canada's been having quite the cold spell this year. Check our blog this weekend to see what we did last night. ;)

  4. Beautiful photos! I'm so glad you went out - it's been just wonderful here lately. I've been trying to get out with the kids more so we can enjoy it while it lasts.
