Simple Woman #87

For Today . . .  May 10, 2010

Outside my window . . . bright sunshine greeted me this morning and it's been a lovely spring day today.  +13 degrees C and everything is turning a lovely green color.

I am thankful . . . for my Mom and the memories of her childhood she shared with us yesterday.  I heard some new stories!

And I also am thankful . . .  for the Mom that raised her son to be a man of integrity and faith - and then shared him with me!

I am praying . . . for women everywhere as they fulfill the roles God has created them for and as they encourage, support, care for and love others.

I am thinking . . .  about community members that can serve in a consultation process.

I am creating . . .
a title and journaling for one of the scrapbook pages I created last weekend.

I am celebrating . . . Samuel's birthday this week!  We are saving the birthday cake until he's here - soon!

From the kitchen . . .  Root Beer floats this afternoon and leftovers as I was at school today. Supper is Chicken Veggie Stir-fry on Basmati Rice with Orange-Almond Salad and yummy Peanut Butter Chocolate Layer Cake for dessert (leftover from my sister ).

I am wearing . . .  brown dress pants, brown tshirt, green sweater, and a green-orange-tan striped scarf.

I am reading . . .  Luke 11 - Jesus Teaching on Prayer - "So I say to you, Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."  This is one of my favourite passages.

The Centurion's Wife by Davis Bunn and Janette Oke - set in A.D. 33, the fictional story of Leah, a niece of Pontius Pilate, who is betrothed to Alban, the head of a garrison near Galiee and their discoveries after the death of Jesus.

I am hoping . . . to finish cleaning out the raspberries and do some garden planting this week.

I am hearing . . . the hymn "When Peace Like a River" that we sang at church yesterday.

I am going . . . to

Around the house and yard . . . the grass is looking kind of unkempt so I think it's time to mow the lawn and maybe I'll even plant some flowers in the patio pots too.

One of my favourite things . . .  hearing my Mom share stories of her past.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . another day and half of subbing, a housewarming BBQ at our niece's, a visit to Naomi's, browsing at some greenhouses, a day with my mom, Bible study, and garden work.

A quote for today . . .

“When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace.”
—The 14th Dalai Lama
(1935-);

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you . . . flying so high in the big blue sky!
