Simple Woman #80

For Today . . .  March 15, 2010

Outside my window . . . spring weather continues to delight us!  The sun is shining, snowbanks are melting and the temperature is a balmy +12 degrees C.  The kids at school are fascinated with puddles and 'squishy' snowbanks.

I am thankful . . .  for our Bible study group.

And I also am thankful . . .  for time to stay in touch with our family and time to do things with them.

I am praying . . .  for a dear friend and her family.

I am thinking . . .  about a baby shower I am going to on the weekend.

I am creating . . .
a little something for baby Cameron Elizabeth.

I am celebrating . . .  that Darrin and Kelsey have been married for one year!

From the kitchen . . .  Salmon Fillet with Peach Chutney, Brown Rice with Beansprouts and Broccoli, and Blueberry Perogies (found them buried in the deep freeze!).

I am wearing . . .  navy cords, red sweater, and black shoes.  I didn't even wear my coat on the way home tonight.

I am reading . . .  Mark 14: The Lord's Supper and Jesus' Betrayal
REclaiming the "L" Word (Renewing the Church from Its Lutheran Core) by Kelly A. Fryer - the book our small group is studying.
Here Burns My Candle by Liz Curtis Higgs - "A timeless story of love and betrayal, loss and redemption, flickering against the vivid backdrop of 18th century Scotland, illumines the dark side of human nature, even as hope, the brightest of tapers, lights the way home." (from the back cover)

I am hoping . . .  to write some book reviews this week.

I am hearing . . . the evening news on television.

I am going . . . to call my sister as soon as I finish this.

Around the house and yard . . . bare patches showing through on the lawn!

One of my favourite thin
gs . . . smiles from our grandchildren.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . .  3.5 days of subbing, Bible study at our house, a baby shower, and some baking to do.

[add]A quote for today . . .  Forever is composed of nows.
                                    Emily Dickinson

Here is a picture thought I am sharing . .  .  seen on the side of a building near Mel and Tyler's in NYC - this made me smile!

Thanks to Peggy at Simple Woman Daybooks for this idea.

  1. Haha! That sign cracks me up. I really need to stop in to see what they have.
We're enjoying beautiful spring weather, too. Samuel loved being at the park today and there were so many other kids for him to watch.
Have a great week with all those energetic kids.
