Simple Woman #40

For Today . . . May 4, 2009

Outside my window . . . bright, bright sunshine with a little breeze and a temperature of +15 degrees C - spring has broken through the winter!

I am thankful . . . for fresh air, wide open spaces and God's beautiful creation.

I am praying . . . that the new babies coming will arrive safely and that Kelsey and Darrin feel better soon.

I am thinking . . . how hard it is to write about oneself when others are going to read it!

From the kitchen . . . Mustard Soy Chicken, Coconut Rice, Banana Cake with Peanut Butter Icing

I am wearing . . . black track pants, orange striped golf shirt and orange hoodie

I am reading . . . The Curious Incident of the Dog In The Night by Mark Haddon for our next book club

I am hoping . . . to meet my sister and my mom for some greenhouse touring, lunch and a pedicure for mom in honour of Mother's Day tomorrow

I am hearing . . . Meadow's sweet little voice, this morning as we sat on logs outside, saying "I miss my Grampa Rod". (He died 5 years ago and she never met him but we know he is watching from heaven - and that he would have loved this little one with all his heart.)

I am creating . . . LOs of our trip to Europe - the city of Katowice is next.

Around the house . . . some sorting ready to take to the second hand store, floors to wash and patio furniture to wipe down

One of my favourite things . . . spring flowers blooming in Naomi's yard

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . travel show in Edmonton tonight, Bible study, 1.5 days of subbing, and a retirement function on Saturday night

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you . . . Meadow posing for me beside the crocuses in their garden - she kept saying "Are you done yet?  Show me!"

  3. Hope you got your pedicure.
It is so fun to see those that live in colder climates doing what those of us in warmer climates did 2 months ago.
We are just like God's creations, walking according to the seasons.
I was looking back through old posts of mine and wondering if you have ever started knitting?
Oh...I would like to visit you for dinner, everything in your kitchen sounds wonderful.
    Have a great week!

  4. Our weather patterns are almost in sync at the moment. You are warming up and we are cooling down. I'm on the hunt for my hot water bottle - the nights are a wee bit chilly now (nothing at all like your -35 that you had to suffer). Can you save me a piece of cake please?

  5. Yeah for spring, time outside and flowers blooming. We are starting to see signs of spring here in NS.
Have a great time with Grandma and Auntie E...I'm up for a pedicure, too. I'm hoping to go this week before baby arrives (hopefully). We miss you lots.
