Ten on Thursday

It's time to get back to some random-ness!

1.  My friend brought me the loveliest big pussy willows the other day.  I love them!

2.  I washed some inside windows today - and they are sparkling!  A couple of times I've caught my reflection and been so surprised!

3.  This week I got letters from both of the Compassion children that we sponsor, one in Brazil and one in Ethiopia.  It's such a blessing to hear from the girls and to support them in a little-to-us but big-to-them way.  Writing back to them is on my list for tomorrow.

4.  Several containers of these are still hiding in the deep freeze, along with strawberries, blueberries, saskatoons, peaches and plums :)  We have used so many but still our supply is holding out!

5.  Leigh, a scrapbooking acquaintance, was in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on a missions trip earlier this winter.  You can read all about it on her blog, To The Full.

6.  I'm thinking of making these Lemon Cream Puffs from Pioneer Woman's Tasty Kitchen for dessert on Sunday.  What do you think?

7. See these snowbanks?  Well, they are gone now!!

8.  I found a new blog this week :  Bales & Tales written by Lindsay, a teacher and a ranch wife.  Her email address uses libraryboss - I like that :))  She wrote a very cool post about Mary, the mother of Jesus this week.

9.  What are you cooking this weekend?  My future sees Baked Ham, Hashbrown Casserole, Roasted Asparagus and Walnut-Pear Salad.

10.  I baked Resurrection Buns today.  There's still time for you to try them before Easter Sunday - they are so worth it!

Start with yeast dough for buns (or use frozen bread dough) -

wrap a large marshmallow inside each bun -

dip each bun in butter -

- roll in sugar and cinnamon -

let rise until double in size and then bake.

The marshmallow melts and leaves 'an empty tomb' inside with a hint of caramel, sugary goodness on the outside.

Thanks to Ann at A Holy Experience for sharing the link to this recipe.

Happy Easter weekend to all of you!

  2. Mmm...I think you should make the lemon puffs. I made the Olive Oil & Thyme cupcakes from PW, and I am addicted to them. Anything remotely summery in this spring transition is a welcome treat :)

    Happy Easter!

  4. Mmm, I'm getting hungry just reading your post. The buns look awesome. I'm definitely going to try those - maybe tomorrow and then share some at church on Sunday. I would also like to request a container of raspberries be sent to my house. I could just eat the whole thing right now. Ah, I miss that patch.
