365 Project - Goes to Vancouver!

February 4

The early morning sunrise as we headed home.

February 3

We had so much fun biking along the Seawall through Stanley Park, past English Bay, around False Creek (where they are building the Athletes Village for the 2010 Winter Olympics), and over to Granville Island. Darrin estimated that we did 25 km. That's what it felt like too - my legs had quite a workout!

This was the feature display in the reception area of the hotel. Last year they had a huge Chinese urn filled with many different flowers. I liked the simplicity of this one.

February 1

We've got this wonderful view from our newly renovated room at the Westin Bayshore. And the grass is green here - sure beats -35 degrees C! We've come to Vancouver for a conference and a break from Alberta's winter weather. It's marvelous!

In other news, my laptop has died so I'm back to sharing the desktop with Bob. I'm afraid we may have to rebuild mine and who knows how long that will take. I may not be around too much until then but I'll be thinking of all of you. Happy February!

  1. Awesome photos! I can't imagine green grass right now!
That is such a bummer about your laptop! It's not even that old yet! ACK! I hope it gets fixed soon!

  2. This is what I get for being out of the loop for the past several days! Ahhh! I had no idea you were in town!! I am sad... I would have made the half hour drive out to see you!!! Sniff.... Hope you enjoyed our lovely city. Although our weather lately has been the pits. Did it snow while you were here? We have had two storms pass through us in the last week...

  4. How fun was this trip! I love that the four of you went biking...and look at how far you went. Can't wait to see some photos. We have warmer weather here too, and I noticed the other day that some of the bushes around our place have blossoms on them. I wonder if spring is already here. Sorry to hear about the laptop. Hope you didn't lose anything.

It sounds like a nice trip, Crystal--and way to go on all that biking!

I visited Vancouver in high school, and I remember that was the first time I saw mountains--real mountains. They took my breath away.

    XO
