One Year Ago

Just 365 days ago, we were  -

flying alongside Mount Kilimanjaro -

meeting Bob and Clarence after their hike up the mountain and our cruise down the Nile -

basking at this beautiful resort in Zanzibar -

strolling along the beach of the Indian Ocean -

and relaxing in the saltwater pool!

What marvelous memories we have of that October in Africa!

Tales from Africa

In case you might be interested, I've gone back to Jambo, Safari, our African vacation blog and done some more posts.  I hope to get the rest of the trip documented in the next weeks.

Next stop - leaving Serengeti and heading to Ngorongoro Crater!

Corners of My Home

I hung this batik wall hanging,
purchased near Lake Manyara in Tanzania,
in our home today.
It's definitely a reminder of our amazing trip!

Best of 2009

For December 11 - Best place - on the chesterfield, snuggling with a grandchild or two, reading books!  Those little heads smelling so sweet, eyes fixed on the illustrations, ears tuned to every word, shoulders snuggled under my arm, a smaller one cuddled on my lap, all of us exploring the world of words and pictures, making new connections and interpreting our world - it is an absolutely perfect place!

On our African adventure, I really liked the salt water pool at the resort in Zanzibar.  It was my first experience in that kind of pool and the warm water was heavenly.  The thought of it warms me right up on this chilly winter day!

Thanks to Gwen Bell for inviting bloggers to take this journey through the past year.
