Decorating for Fall

These two little vignettes show the fall decorations in our home.  I've simplified the main area of our home, after we replaced the floors last winter,  and I love the little bits of color that go with this season.

When I looked around last week, I came to the conclusion that  photographs form the base of my decorating scheme - and that makes me very happy!  The smallest photo here shows our family at the San Diego Zoo in 1991!

I've been following the 31 Days of Autumn Bliss at The Inspired Room and am inspired to make little changes and improvements in our living spaces.

Corners of My Home

This was our dining room table setup for book club night.  The tablecloth is a Masai cloth, the plate is alabaster and the photo was taken in Serengeti National Park.  Just a little snippet of Africa as we read Baking Cakes in Kigali this month.

Corners of My Home

I hung this batik wall hanging,
purchased near Lake Manyara in Tanzania,
in our home today.
It's definitely a reminder of our amazing trip!

Corners of My Home

Last night I got the motivation to clean off my scrapbook table!  With the commotion of Christmas cards and letters, creating a December Daily album and lots of entertaining (which means that assorted piles get moved to the studio) it was quite the mess.  Now everything pretty much has a home or is in the trash and the space is ready for creating again.  That's even a started layout sitting on the table, using a photo from 2007!   This is definitely a favourite corner of mine!

Corners of My Home

As part of my Project 365 pictures this year, I want to photograph more of our home.  So yesterday when SouleMama reposted her invitation to join the Flickr pool Corners of My Home, I had to investigate and get on board to participate.

Our Christmas tree always stays up until after Bob's birthday which is also Ukrainian Christmas.  So this corner of the living room is filled with warmth and light at night and green goodness during the sunlight hours.  I will definitely miss all of this when it comes down next week.

So please consider this invitation to share pieces of your home - come over and join in the fun!
