Today

Today I love the . . .

smell:   gingerbread tea light candles from IKEA

sound:   Christmas carols from Amy Grant's CDs

taste:    the last Mexican meat pie that was still in the freezer

sight:   Christmas lights shining through the dark

feel:    two new pairs of shoes (I knew as soon as I slid my foot in, that they were the right ones!)

(idea from the incolororder blog)

It's time to use that wonderful journaling idea that Marta at the dear diary stories, shared with me via her little  diaries.    Thanks again, M!!

Today
September 3, 2011

I love the smell
of fresh fruit, all enclosed in the van,
which is loaded with 4 layers of boxes.

I love the sound
of a passionate Hungarian farmer
as he describes with pride,
the trees and fruit he grows.

I love the taste
of juicy orange-red nectarines,
ripened right on the tree,
dripping down my chin.

I love the sight
of perfect orbs of fruit,
pears and peaches and plums,
hanging full on green branches.

I love the feel
of cool, purple plums,
layers deep in the field crates,
as we piled them into our boxes.

Today

Marta at the dear diary stories makes these wonderful mini-diaries and I asked her if I could use the journaling ideas for a blog post.  I am delighted that she graciously agreed - I know I'm going to enjoy using these every so often.  Thanks, M!!

I love the smell
of beef stew simmering in the crockpot all day long.

I love the sound
of Meadow and Blake giggling.

I love the taste
of carrot cake muffins with cream cheese icing.

I love the sight
of autumn colors
like pumpkins, chrysanthemums and leaves
decorating my home.

I love the feel
of baby cheeks as they snuggle with me.

Today
July 21, 2010

I love the smell
of oatmeal crispie cookies fresh from the oven.

I love the sound
of birds chattering in the trees outside the window.

I love the taste
of  the first new red potatoes,
smothered in cream with dill.

I love the sight
of heavy scarlet raspberries
hanging under the green leaves
waiting to be picked.

I love the sight
of fresh washed fruits,
home from the market,
plump and juicy.

I love the feel
of bread dough as I shape it into a loaf
and slip it into the pan to rise.

(in all their unfocussed glory!)

I love the smell
of fresh cut grass.

I love the sound
of frogs croaking as the day ends.

I love the taste
of Cheeseburger Pie,
a new recipe I tried last night.

I love the sight
of pieces of fabric coming together
to create something completely new.
(I can't show you because it's a birthday gift for someone -
and I know she comes to the visit the blog!  I'll share
details in a few weeks.)

I love the feel
of icy cold Pepsi Lime
as it slides down my throat,
after I was out in the hot sun today.
