The laptop has been rebuilt with a new hard drive, a new keyboard (some of the letter keys were chipping) and a new case (again, some chipping) and it's now back home! Luckily I had backed up all the data and everything's reinstalled so we are good to go - hopefully for a very long time!
But today when I went to update the blog and post some pictures, I got a message saying that my site has exceeded the free storage space amount. So off I went to Picasa Web Albums, where Blogger stores blog photos, and discovered that yes, indeed, I have used 1023 gb of the 1024 free gb allowed. That equals 3773 - yes, three thousand seven hundred seventy-three pictures in the last 4 years! And they are all saved in my web album which is great. But due to the lack of space, I've had to purchase, for the grand sum of $5.00, extra space of 20 Mb and it will take 24 hours to adjust my account. So - - no pictures until later.
If it isn't one thing, it's something else! Once again, I appreciate your consideration while I deal with technical difficulties :))

It's Official
Our MacBook laptop has gone to the Apple hospital and will hopefully return early next week. Luckily it was backed up and the service department will re-install everything. I hope this will all happen smoothly - what do you think the chances are of that happening??!?!
Thank you for your patience with my lack of posting. I have lots to share but need the pictures that are on laptop. I'll be back as soon as the laptop comes home. Happy May Day to you!!

Apologies -
to Apple computers for my little rant the other day! We took the laptop to Westworld on Sunday afternoon and when the technician turned it on, it booted up! Surprise, surprise!! I cleaned up the desktop but it's going in for a checkup anyway and we are backing the whole thing up too. Needed to get on that plan a long time ago so I guess the forcing was a good thing.
We've been away in Calgary for 3 days with early, early mornings so I'm very tired. Look for Simple Woman, Gratitude Gifts and other exciting posts coming soon!

Apparently . . .
the hard drive in my MacBook laptop has decided to die :((
This computer is not even 3 years old and we have had the screen replaced already and now this. I am not impressed!! I love the Apple product but I was hoping for more than 2.25 years with it. I guess it's off to the computer hospital and we'll see what happens.
Meanwhile, I may be a little scarce in these parts. I will miss you all!

"Summer School"
When I bought Photoshop Elements for my computer, I knew that I would have to do some serious learning to master anything with it. There's alot the program can do and I really had no clue where to begin. And then a few weeks ago, this digital guru, Jessica Sprague, offered a free online class to learn how to do some photo editting tricks and enhancements. It was just what I needed to push me onto the learning curve! And so here we are at day 3. I've learned a few things like -

how to add frames -
and WordARt to pictures -
But it's been like taking a university course again! I have to watch her video tutorials 2 or 3 times, make notes to follow the steps, and then even search online for answers to some of my questions. Computers are marvelous but if you don't know how or where to find little commands or processes, well - it can be a BIG source of frustration. Last night about 1:30 a.m., I was feeling like somewhat of a dummy! Luckily I wasn't the only one with the problem (such a good feeling when someone else is in the boat with you!!!!) and I managed to find someone who'd posted a help and I was finally able to master the technique.
On to photo tinting today - wish me luck!! I will succeed, I will succeed, I will succeed . . .
This learning is definitely good for my brain - right?!?!?!
